ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
Books with Badges is an educational program for elementary, middle, and high school students. The goal of the organization is to build trust and positive relationships between students and First Responders. Our educational programs vary by student grade-level.
Elementary: Students will have books read to them by their local First Responders, Dispatchers, and Public Safety Personnel.
Middle/Jr. High: Students participate in the positive CHOICES program. (Change Happens Once I Can Evaluate Struggle).
High School: Students participate in Community Conversations that focus on developing life skills.
Since our Ohio origination in 2016, Books with Badges reached more than 75,000 students and has now expanded into numerous states across the United States.

CHASE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
JAMIE
PROGRAM DIRECTOR
With strong experience in recruiting, advising, leadership, and instruction, Jamie understands how to make an impact in the education space. She is passionate about the success of students through teaching them the tools to be successful during their studies and after graduation. Jamie has over 10 years experience in instruction, diversity recruiting, team-building, and career development. In leadership positions, she takes pride in managing staff to their fullest potential in an environment they can enjoy.
Jamie earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and Master's Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Currently, she is the Director of Online Admissions for South University, as well as, an online college instructor for various universities.

With a strong passion for community service, Chase understands the importance of community outreach and engagement. Youth mentorship and development is one of his main focuses and in 2016 he founded Books with Badges. Chase has over 12 years of law enforcement experience and is currently assigned to the Ohio State Patrol - Office of Training, Recruitment & Diversity. In addition, Chase is a certified police academy instructor with a specialty in Community Diversity.
In 2021 and 2022, he earned the Martin Luther King Jr. Award, issued by NAACP, and the Robert M. Chiaramonte Humanitarian Award, issued by the Ohio State Patrol. While serving as the Commencement Speaker for the Class of 2022, Chase was presented a Doctorate of Humane Letters from Wheeling University.
